On Friday, November 10, Sr. Vice Commandant Gene Peterson (pictured below) surprised Charter Member Lonnie Mersch with a cake cutting ceremony for the Marine Corps birthday. The event started with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by the cake cutting. The oldest Marine present was 90, and the youngest Marine was 30. Peterson and Chaplain Randy Randall gave a flag folding demonstration after the cake ceremony.
